Container Delivery Checklist

Our Guide To Help Guarantee Safety & A Smooth Transfer For Your Container
As soon as you have placed your order to have a storage container delivered, you can expect us to respond within one business day to determine and confirm the details of your delivery, such as the location, date and estimated time. Our professional driver will call once they are on the way to your container's destination. Upstate Storage Trailer drivers always put safety first and will never attempt to complete a delivery to an unsafe site; however, if an attempt is made and the site is not adequate for completing delivery, the destination charges will still be your responsibility. We don't want to waste your time or money, or ours; so, we encourage you to read through this checklist and make certain your container's site checks all the boxes. If your site does not meet these requirements, or if you are unsure whether it does or not, call us, so we can help with your assessment, or plan to have an alternate location ready that is adequate and convenient for your needs.

Wiggle Room
The trucks that are equipped to haul storage containers are very large and require enough space to make wide turns and to maneuver between fences, gates, buildings and other objects that can hinder or slow down the delivery. Please make sure there is a sufficient amount of space for our drivers to be able to reach your container's landing place and to complete your delivery.

Between A Rock and A Hard Place
In addition to having room to get your container to your site, you can expect our drivers to need sufficient area overall to unload the container and to also have enough space to turn around, back out and ultimately exit your location. The truck will be approximately 10' wide. For a 20' container there should be at least 60' available for our drivers to be able to complete the delivery. 40' containers require at least 100'.

A Solid Situation
Speaking of hard places, it is monumentally important that the delivery location is free from the risk that is presented by mud, wet grass, or other soggy soil situations. Our drivers may refuse to deliver to a site with damp ground or other such conditions, because the truck can easily sink and become stuck. These conditions are also not favorable for your container, because it can settle into the ground over time to a degree that renders the container inaccessible. Be sure to assess your delivery area to determine if there is a firm enough foundation for your container and for our driver's path to it.

Heads Up On Headroom
Not only is adequate room important at ground level, but it is also very important to evaluate the amount of space available overhead. Before the delivery truck begins to unload your container, it is 13'6" tall. Once off-loading begins, it can reach up to 16' before the completion of the delivery. Please verify that your delivery site and passage to it is free from power lines, tree branches, causeways or any other object that may hinder or prohibit the delivery and unloading of your storage container.
